I Met Ralph Macchio From Cobra Kai/Karate Kid!

On August 12th & 13th of 2022, I went to Monster Mania Con in Cherry Hill, New Jersey where I met the one and only Ralph Macchio AKA Daniel LaRusso from "Cobra Kai" and "The Karate Kid!"

Before I discovered "Cobra Kai" and "The Karate Kid" I was experiencing severe depression. I was at such a low point in my life that everything felt hopeless and I felt like there was nothing in the world that would change that.

When I first watched "The Karate Kid," I was really able to resonate with the character of Daniel LaRusso. He was the kid who faced many hardships and struggled to feel like he could belong. Seeing his character progress in the film under the guidance of Mr. Miyagi was truly inspirational for me.

Then in "Cobra Kai," I continued to be inspired by Daniel as he spread the Miyagi Do teachings to the younger generation including Miguel, Sam, and Robby. Daniel LaRusso and Miyagi-Do taught me how important it is to be kind and compassionate to others. They taught me that if you put out good into the world, good will come back. And most importantly... it taught me about "Balance."

In "The Karate Kid," Mr. Miyagi tells Daniel, “You remember lesson about balance? Lesson not just karate only. Lesson for whole life. Whole life have a balance. Everything be better." This quote has stuck with me ever since I first heard it. I try and live my whole life with the mantra of "having balance." Having Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi in my mind as I navigate my way through life has helped me in so many ways.

I had never met Ralph Macchio until this convention, and I had already looked up to him because of his character in "Cobra Kai" and "The Karate Kid." Meeting Ralph in-person was even more special than I could have ever imagined. I was in awe of Ralph's kindness and compassion. His positivity was so infectious and it meant the world to me that I was able to have this experience with him.

The fact that he already knew who I was and had already watched a lot of my videos made this experience even more surreal for me! Never in a million years would I ever think that one of my biggest idols would be watching my YouTube videos but here we are! Dreams come true! If you work hard and keep dreaming, the possibilities are endless!
